Restylane

Made of hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule, Restylane is a completely natural substance found in your body that provides volume and fullness to your skin. Because it’s a product that’s already produced by the body, patients cannot experience an allergic reaction. Hyaluronic acid is also hydrophilic or “water loving” so as it degrades, it bonds to more water molecules over time so the same volume is maintained as less hyaluronic acid is present, helping provide long lasting results.

Restylane treatments require no down time. Side effects from a Restylane treatment are minimal and include redness, bruising, tenderness, swelling, pain and itching, which should subside in 7 days.

During the procedure, Restylane is injected directly into the skin by an extremely fine needle resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and the results are instantaneous. The effects of Restylane are immediate and last six months to one year depending on location and size of area treated. Although relatively pain free, patients can chose to receive a dental block, which numbs the upper and lower lips prior to the injections being performed for added comfort.
