Dr. Lee Series of Ads on KOOL 105.1-FM
Radio ad reveals one woman's secret to younger looking skin

DENVER, CO - If you’ve been listening to KOOL 105.1-FM Radio, it’s likely that you’ve tuned into the ad with two women sharing lunch and beauty secrets. Their secret is Dr. Ben Lee.

Ben Lee, MD, MBA and plastic surgeon with offices located at 3701 S. Clarkson St. in Englewood, Colorado, just off of Hampden Avenue, treats a number of patients with Botox® Cosmetic injections. Botox injections are the fastest-growing cosmetic procedure in the industry, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). The Society reported that Botox injections increased 4 percent in 2004 and 280 percent since 2000.

And it’s not for women only.

MSNBC reports that “from 2000 to 2005, there was a whopping 44 percent increase in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures among men, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. While the jump in demand isn't unique to the gender, doctors say it speaks to many men's desire to boost their looks — often through quickie treatments that don't cause a lot of bruising or require lengthy recovery times.”

Forbes magazine reports that the top three most popular cosmetic treatments for men in 2006 were minimally invasive cosmetic procedures including Botox, microdermabrasion and laser hair removal.

A report published in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, a leading medical journal online, reveals that patients who underwent facial cosmetic surgery created a better first impression following the procedure.

“Minimally invasive procedures that exact no downtime are increasingly attractive to patients because they can forestall looking older,” says Dr. Lee, who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. “While statistics would lead one to believe that a majority of the population has had Botox injections, that’s not the case.” Only 3 percent of the population has taken advantage of the rejuvenating results that Botox injections can lend to one’s face by easing frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles.

Competitiveness is one of the reasons men have joined the ranks of women getting Botox injections. “The saying that 60 is the new 40 means that people have years of productivity ahead of them. They don’t just want to feel young, but they enjoy looking younger too. Looking younger can play to their advantage in the business world too,” adds Dr. Lee.
