Breast Reduction

Breast Reductions are usually performed because the size of a woman's breasts is affecting their comfort and health. Breasts that are too large cause a myriad of problems including back and neck pain, skin irritation, skeletal deformities and breathing problems. Bra straps may leave indentations on the wearer’s shoulders and young girls may feel embarrassed by their large chests.

The procedure removes fat, tissue and skin from the breasts making them smaller, perkier and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola. The main goal of breast reduction is giving the woman smaller, more proportional breasts which in turn give the patient a confidence they haven’t owned for too long. During the procedure, skin formerly located above the nipple is brought down and together giving the breast it’s new contour. Scarring around the areola, below it and in the crease under the breast is permanent but can be easily concealed. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia.
